MEGA-SKY Pilot Endline State Consultation

Funded by United States Agency for International Development (USAID)  the "Minority Education for Growth and Advancement – Skills for Youth" (MEGA-SkY) project is implemented by Education Development Centre Inc. (EDC). The project began in October 2009 germinated and supported various activities focusing on enabling and strengthening the education and skills development of Minority (Muslim) children and Disadvantaged (General) youth in the states of Bihar, Delhi,  Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh.  This project which was implemented in 12 pilot blocks, was facilitated on the ground by 10 Local Implementing Partners (LIP’s).

After over a year of working proactively with various stakeholders and through various delivery systems,  EDC and its partners have created, established and strengthened some important tools and systems such as Bridge courses for drop out and out of school children facilitated by almost 50 community support groups (CSG’s) and 155 youth volunteer’s efforts through a network of over 50 Taraqqi Centres (Community Centres) ; therein supportive coaching  also for underperforming or  newly admitted  School going children identified through exhaustive Household Surveys done in all the 12 pilot blocks; Vocational training including Literacy/Numeracy enablement of youth especially
