Children’s organizations
The child rights forum known as Bal Adhikar manch in local language is a specific platform where children come together, share their views, discuss major events in their neighborhood and at the national level. There are 40 children groups in the area comprising of a total number of 240 children with equal participation of boys and girls in the group. Besides this they have been playing an important role in eradication of polio every month in their village. They are identified by UNICEF and their team is known as the ‘Calling team (Bulava toli)’ with a special task to inform parents to visit polio booths, to vaccinate their children against polio.
The children of Bal Adhikar Manch collected information on various child rights issues and on environmental education. They updated them through newspapers, magazines and books in the library. As a result they have written and prepared 60 newsletter and 30 short stories.
